- NOTRE DAME ACADEMY, NTPC SOLAPUR -

The origins of Notre Dame Academy, NTPC Solapur trace back to an invitation from the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Solapur Unit—an esteemed ‘Maharatna Company’—to take over the existing KLE English Medium School. The vision was to establish a school under the Notre Dame Management that would serve both the children of NTPC employees and those from neighbouring communities.
Thus began the collaboration between Notre Dame Academy and NTPC Solapur under the dynamic leadership of the then Provincial Superior Sr Mary Chetna, with the dedicated support of her team, Sr Mary Kripa and Sr Mary Manisha. On behalf of NTPC Solapur, the then Head of the Project (HOP), Sri Srinivas Rao, CGM and his team, played a crucial role in this transition.
Sr Mary Ranjana Joseph is honoured as the founding principal in 2022 and continues to serve in this capacity, steering the school with visionary leadership. Under her leadership, Notre Dame Academy successfully assumed administrative control from KLE and secured the No Objection Certificate (NOC) along with all necessary approvals from the Maharashtra State Government, initiating the process for CBSE affiliation.

STEADY GROWTH OF THE INSTITUTION

For three years, KLE, NTPC and Notre Dame Academy collaborated under a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to ensure a smooth transition. During this period, Sr Mary Ranjana Joseph worked diligently to obtain government approvals while also fostering steady growth in student enrolment.
From an initial strength of 83 students, the school has expanded significantly, now accommodating 260 students from Bal Vatika 3 (UKG) to Class VIII. Additionally, two batches of Grade VIII students have successfully transitioned into CBSE schools of their choice for Grade IX admission.

CBSE AFFILIATION: A STEP FORWARD

With a strong foundation in place, Notre Dame Academy now eagerly anticipates its CBSE board affiliation to facilitate Grade IX enrolment, ensuring students receive a seamless education that prepares them for CBSE board examinations in the years to come.
